Pastor Shawn M. McBride is an ordained minister of the Gospel and is impacting the lives of men, women, children and families locally and abroad. Effective Easter Sunday 2023 he will become the third pastor of New Birth Christian Church located in Suitland, MD.
Pastor Shawn, holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical studies from Washington Bible College and a Master’s degree in marriage & family counseling from Capital Bible Seminary. He is a dynamic communicator of The WORD of God who has traveled extensively to 40 states, thousands of cities and internationally preaching and teaching the Gospel.
His passion for God, relevant approach, genuine love for people, and down to earth personality is his super power. His ability to teach solid biblical principles is truly a gift from God.
Over the course of twenty five years, he has faithfully served the Body of Christ a local church senior pastor, college & seminary professor, family counselor, multi-school chaplain, youth minister, motivational speaker, & evangelist.
Pastor Shawn is considered by many Christian leaders as one of the top five youth communicators in the United States of America and has led thousands of young people into a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. He is the founder & president of Truth for Youth America, a non-profit Christian based organization devoted to evangelizing & educating American young people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, equipping adult youth leaders and encouraging parents of youth.
Pastor Shawn owns The Couples Counseling Center located in Bowie MD and as a licensed and professional therapist. The Couples Counseling Center is a safe and confidential place that offers professional, genuine, practical, and wisdom-filled counseling/therapy to individuals, families and especially couples who are dating, engaged, or married. The Couples Counseling Center desires to help equip and prepare couples for a lifelong relationship by identifying the patterns of behavior that may act as barriers to intimacy. The Couples Counseling Center is committed to helping couples in conflict find productive ways to move past the hurts and heal the wounds that will strengthen their relational bond.
Pastor Shawn enjoys reading, writing, boating, a daily 90 minuet nap, spending quality time with his family and traveling, especially to the beach. He is the published author of 17 books, the faithful husband of almost 30 years to his best friend Dana Michelle and is the proud father of 5 young adult/adult children. Currently, he and his family make their home in the suburbs of Washington, DC.
